The mission of the Alvin ISD library program is to create and empower lifelong learners by advancing the academic expectations and aspirations of each student in every program to become accomplished readers, critical thinkers, skillful researchers, ethical users of information, and creative problem solvers.

Mrs. Amy Louthan
I have been the librarian at AJH for 6 years. I was the librarian at Walt Disney Elementary for 8 years prior. Before becoming a librarian I was a classroom teacher for 10 years. I have taught all subjects, but mostly Language Arts. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Baylor University (Sic 'em, Bears!) I received my Master of Library Science degree from Texas Woman's University. I have a Principal Certification from Lamar University. I really love learning!
My husband, Rocky, is an ag teacher in Goose Creek ISD. I have a son (Cody) in the Army and a daughter (Ashley) in college at Texas Tech. We also have an Australian Shepherd named Grizzly and a pet rabbit named Camo.
I love working at Alvin Junior High and sharing my love of books and reading!
