Mrs. Jennifer Gribble

Welcome to my page!

Hello! My name is Jennifer Gribble and I am the newly appointed ASD Teacher at Hood-Case Elementary! I am so excited to begin my 3rd year teaching at the best elementary school in Texas. For the past 2 years I’ve taught PPCD at Hood-Case, and loved every second of it. I am so excited to begin a new journey this year teaching our ASD program.

My Education...

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary studies in 2018, from the University of Houston Clear Lake (Go Hawks!). In college, I majored in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education, and received my certification in General Education EC-6th grade, and SpEd EC-12th grade. I have known for a very long time that my calling was in Special Education. I honestly could not see myself doing anything else with my life.

My Teaching Philosophy...

My biggest focus in the classroom is establishing good relationships with my students. I have always felt that students learn best in an environment where they know they are valued, loved, and safe. I also strive to connect with the families of my students because we accomplish so much more when we work as a team!  In the classroom, My students learn very quickly that I expect them to try their best in everything that they do. I read a quote once that said, “Great teachers have high expectations of their students, but even higher expectations of themselves" (Todd Whittaker). This really spoke to me as a teacher. I hold my students to high expectations because I believe in them. I know that with the right support they can rise to meet any challenge. I hold myself accountable for providing the support they need to succeed and for providing a learning environment where they feel safe to take risks and try new things because that is where true learning begins.

My personal life...

I live in Texas City with my husband and our 4 fur babies. I have two dogs, Harley Quinn who is 9 years old, and Duke who I have had for about 7 years. He was a rescue so I am not sure of his true age. I also have two cats, Sabrina who is 10 years old, and Cisco Ramone who just had his 2nd birthday! He is the baby of the family and likes to cause trouble for all my older pets and us! I come from a big family where I am the oldest of 4. I have two younger brothers and one younger sister. I also have a nephew who will be three soon and a niece who will be 4 on Halloween! She is my little teacher in training! She loves teaching her stuffed animals just like I did when I was little.

A little more about me...

My hobbies include, camping, floating the beautiful Texas rivers, reading all the books, watching crime TV, and hosting game nights with friends. My favorite food is Mexican. I swear I could eat it every day and never grow tired of it! My favorite drinks are Diet Dr. Pepper, peach tea, and coffee (iced or hot). My favorite season is summer and my favorite holiday is the 4th of July because it is usually spent outside, in or near a body of water! Second would have to be Thanksgiving because my mom and I cook all the best food and my whole family gets together. My favorite color is purple, and I am obsessed with butterflies. My students call me Mrs. Gigi! I got that nickname my first year teaching from one of my students who refused to call me anything else. All my other students picked it up and it just stuck! Truth is, I kinda love it!

Salutations...

I am so excited for this school year! I know it is not going to be what we are used to, but together we will make it the absolute best! I look forward to meeting you soon!
