Alvin Independent School District is committed to providing excellent educational opportunities to ensure all of its 25,000 students are able to reach their maximum learning potential. To fulfill this goal, the district must continually evaluate our facilities and support systems to determine if our learning environments are equipped to best support the future of our educational programs.
The Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC) is an invaluable group of community members formed to study the facility needs of the school district and ultimately present a recommendation to the Alvin ISD Board of Trustees for consideration.
Obtaining different perspectives from the entire community is very important to the process. Therefore, more than 100 citizens from a variety of geographic areas and backgrounds have been invited to make up the CAC. Members of the committee will study district facility age, condition and capacity, enrollment projections, financial data, potential project solutions and cost, and the results of a community-wide survey in order to make the best recommendation.
This website will be updated as the CAC works through the process and will include meeting agendas, presentations, notes, and relevant resources. The Citizens' Advisory Committee Meetings are open to the public.
