Grading & Policies

  • Grading & Policies for Reading

    • Formatives: 50% (APA 40%)

Classwork, homework, warm-ups, exit tickets, discussions,…

    • Sumatives: 50% (APA 60%)

    Quizzes, tests, projects,…

    • Late Policy: Late work will be accepted, but will have a grade penalty

The maximum penalty should be 30 points. For example,

      1 day late -10

      2 days late -20

3 or more days late -30

The penalty is a consequence for late work. However, since we need to assess learning, we still want the student to complete and turn in the work.

    • Make-up Policy:

You may make-up any missed assignments. You are responsible for setting up a time to make-up the work, other than class time.

    • Re-Test:

A student receiving a grade below 89% may re-test after meeting/tutorials with the teacher and fulfilling the requirement for re-test.

    Academic Dishonesty

All work that you submit must be your own work. You may not do any of the following:

    1. Turn in or copy someone else’s work.
    2. Copy someone’s work and change a few of the words.
    3. Copying words from a source without citing it or giving credit to the source.
    4. Attempt to use any notes on a closed note assignment.
    5. Look at someone else’s work during a quiz, test, or individual assessment.

If you are doing any of the above or anything that constitutes cheating, you will receive a zero on that assignment, and you will be referred for discipline.
