I have been working with special needs kids since I was in high school.

 

Harley- After graduation, I began nannying in the summers for a student who is blind and has autism. During my first year teaching, I moved in with his family to help care for him full time. Over the summer I moved into my own apartment and became his respite care worker. We go out to eat, to the park, to the movies, and swimming. In the summer of 2016, we went to San Antonio, where we got to go to Fiesta Texas three times, Morgan's Wonderland, the San Antonio Zoo, and the movies.

 

Katharyn- While in college, I had the opportunity to work as a home health aide to a 19YO girl who was an incomplete quadriplegic. We spent all of our time together and now she is one of my best friends.
