Alvin High School was "born" in 1894 and the first graduating class was in 1897 which had 5 students. After the storm of 1900, donations made way to the repairs and renovations of AHS, later leading to the first 4-year class graduation in 1906. With new schools being built, the Alvin Independent School District was founded in 1925.
