The policy for grading is the same throughout all special areas at Alvin Primary. The grading period is broken down into 4 semesters. One grade is taken per week. The grade comes from a combination of participation and conduct. Here is how the grading system works: Each week your child starts the week off the E and if he/she does what he/she is asked then the grade that week remains an E (90). If your child receives a warning it is an S (80). If your child goes to time out during that week he/she grades drops to an S(70). If a conduct note goes home then the child’s grade for that week is an N (60). And if three conduct notes or an office referral is given then the child earns a U (50). On the report card the grade will show as an E,S, N, or U.
In PE, we do many activities that require running, jumping, climbing, and moving. We ask that all students wear shoes that have closed toes and have support in the front and in the back of the shoes. When students wear shoes such as sandals or shoes with big heels, they have difficulty participating in our activities. We recommend tennis shoes that don’t come off easily. Girls need to wear shorts under their skirts and dresses. Please check website to see when your child has PE, and it is also recommended to wear tennis shoes on Thursdays. We will be handing out conduct notes for child not in compliance.
