    About Mr. Rawley

                      Bachelor of Arts (Spanish), University of Evansville
     
    I am delighted to be on the faculty of Harby Junior High School as the choir director for the 2019-20 school year.  Prior to working in AISD, I was a professor of music at San Jacinto College South Campus, Lone Star College Cy-Fair, University of Houston Moores School of Music, and Houston Community College.  As a college professor, I taught voice lessons, American Music, Music Appreciation, and Music Fundamentals. This is my 6th year as the head choir director at Harby Junior High, and I am looking forward to continuing the successes enjoyed over the past five years and building on them for this year.

    I enjoy an active performing career, including opera performances, recitals, and choral works.  Some of the venues where I have performed include Seattle Opera, Portland (OR) Opera, Opera Idaho, and Opera in the Heights here in the Houston area.   I perform locally with various churches and other artistic outlets as a chorus member and soloist. I serve as the chorus-master for the Houston Gilbert and Sullivan Society in their performances at The Hobby Center, and also serve as the artistic coordinator for the Society.

    I make my home in Pearland, TX where I live with my wife, pianist Dr. Sarah Spencer-Rawley, our daughter Susannah, and our bearded dragon Loki.
