Welcome to 4th and 5th grade Math, Science & Social Studies at Hood-Case Elementary!
A little bit about me:
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education at the State University of New York College at Cortland and then high-tailed it to Texas! My husband Dan and I have now lived in The Lone Star State for 39 years! Outside of school, we are kept very busy with our family, home projects and travel.
I am currently in my 14th year teaching here at Hood-Case Elementary and feel very blessed to work with so many dedicated and compasionate educators, and the wonderful families of our school. This is my eighth year teaching 5th grade science, and I enjoy it more every year! This year's newest change is a return to teaching 4th grade science and the addition of math in both 4th and 5th grades. I am excited about what is ahead for this year!
It is my belief that every child is curious, has a desire to learn, and can learn. It is my goal to encourage curiosity, foster the love of learning as a life-long skill, and help each and every student succeed. The best way to achieve success for your child this year is through our communication. Each week I will send home graded papers and notices for your review. We can also communicate with each other through Skyward or email (address above) for the quickest response. If a concern arises, we can always schedule a face-to-face or phone conference as well.
I look forward to the accomplishments of every student as they take on the adventures and challenges of 4th or 5th grade!
