    I am incredibly excited about being an Iowa Colony Pioneer in our inaugural year. This year, I am teaching APA English I and regular English I along with yearbook and journalism. I grew up in the tiny rural town of Danbury, Texas. From there, I went on to major in print journalism and minor in English literature at the University of Houston, where I wrote for The Daily Cougar and interned for the UH Division of Research. Once I graduated, I joined the staff of the Houston Chronicle and worked as a Web Producer for the features department. My love of teaching eventually brought me to Alvin ISD, where I've taught junior high English at both Harby JH and Nolan Ryan JH for six years and have spent the last six years at SCHS.
