My name is Fred Patrick, and I am excited to be one of the Assistant Band Directors at Shadow Creek High School! I attended Louisiana State University, where I studied in the horn studio of Professor Seth Orgel, member of the Atlantic Brass Quintet. I also benefited greatly from studying under Dr. James Byo, Dr. Donald McKinney, and the rest of the faculty at the School of Music. I am an alumni member of Kappa Kappa Psi and Pi Kappa Lambda.
I started my teaching career in Alvin ISD at Nolan Ryan Junior High where I was one of the Assistant Band Directors for 3 years. While there, I was fortunate to work with many amazing students and directors, many of whom I will continue to work with! I was able to learn so much during my time, and I am excited to continue that process at the high school level.
Through my experience and working with these students and coworkers has led me to see that young musicians can accomplish great things, so I am excited to see what these young musicians can do going forward!
I grew up in the Houston area in Friendswood with my three little sisters who all played piano and went through band as well. Music has always been a huge part of my life and dramatically changed my life. I hope some of my students get to experience music in the same way I did!
