Steps to becoming a New AISD Substitute:

• Complete the Online Substitute Application. (click here) 
• As soon as a date for the next orientation is available, we will post it to this website.  

The applications will be reviewed periodically and you will be notified if you qualify and be requested to complete the remainder of the paperwork.  At that time, an appointment will be scheduled for you to attend the next orientation and turn in your paperwork.

General Qualifications:

POSITION : Substitute Teacher

  PRIMARY PURPOSE:   Responsible for providing instruction, managing the

  classroom environment, and promoting student leaning in the absence of the

  regular classroom teacher.

  QUALIFICATIONS: - A minimum of 60 college hours from an accredited college

POSITION : Substitute Paraprofessional (Instruction)

  PRIMARY PURPOSE :  A substitute instructional paraprofessional is responsible

  for assisting the classroom teacher in providing instruction, managing the

  classroom environment, and promoting student learning in the absence of the

  regular instructional paraprofessional.

  QUALIFICATIONS: - High School diploma or GED 

POSITION : Substitute Paraprofessional (Clerical)

  PRIMARY PURPOSE:  A substitute paraprofessional - clerical is responsible for

  assisting the campus staff in performing a wide variety of clerical duties in the

  absence of the regular clerk.
